STOUGHTON PUBLIC LIBRARY
304 S Fourth St
The Stoughton Public Library has been at the corner of 4th and Main for over 110 years, ever since Andrew Carnegie donated $13,000 for a new library building in 1906. A major addition in 1990 preserved the original structure while more than doubling the space, and major renovations in 2008 and 2015 have ensured that the library continues to meet the needs of the community. We like to think of our 16,000 square foot facility as a perfect pairing of the old and the new!
Our collection includes books, magazines, music, movies, and audio books, as well as access to over 200,000 downloadable audio books and eBooks through Wisconsin’s state-wide consortium. We regularly offer virtual and in-person programs and events for all ages, including storytimes, book discussions, lectures, author visits, and concerts.
Our mission is simple: to educate, enrich, empower, and engage our community. To that end, the Stoughton Public Library is committed to promoting literacy, cultural enrichment, and lifelong learning in Stoughton well into the next century.
